In celebration of the release of Coma Cinema‘s album “Stoned Alone” [1st June] they have an amazing video for their track “Only“.

The record is released on cassette and as a digital download for $5 it’s a steal. Click the album art to buy it.

So we went to see Neon Indian live at Camp Basement in London and it was excellent. Nice to see a full band recreating the songs live (and very well) rather than some laptop twiddling. They played an excellent show and then to top it off, for the encore, they played Alan’s other stuff under the name of VEGA (myspace) which I can’t stop listening to at the moment, especially when its nice weather.

And in other news of the Neon Indian variety. There is a new video for Sleep Paralysist.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

I saw on the Battles myspace they were to have a new song on the Twilight Eclipse Soundtrack.

Yes. Twilight Eclipse Soundtrack.

Sounds pretty awesome. Not quite ‘battlesy’ enough maybe. (Bit of a cowboy vibe. Maybe I should get that new Red Dead Redemption game and listen to this). I hope they get on to that second album!

So Warp records signed, Australian band, Pivot have change their name to PVT. They said on myspace  – We were issued with a cease and desist letter a couple of months ago from a US band using the same name informing us that we were infringing upon a registered US trademark which they had recently acquired.

So PVT have a new album coming out titled Church With No Magic. I loved their first album (O Soundtrack My Heart) and then on the Warp 20 release they had a new track called The Quick Mile (and also a brillian cover of Grizzly Bear’s ‘Colorado’), on there which sounds great. The new album is called Church With No Magic and comes out July 19th in Australia and August 9th Worldwide.

Check out the awesome first person video for a new song called Window.

The ‘Leave Everywhere‘ 7″ is due out on Carpark on 19th July 2010 (EU) 20th July (USA)

Ditching the “bedroom, iMac, MIDI controller, Reason” vibe and embracing Phil Spector tape saturation and echo chamber vibe. Even though I’m not a huge fan of Mark Ronson for obvious reasons [watch this], he did record some nice “vintage sounding” stuff (or should I say The Dap Kings did) following suit Chaz has nailed that sound on this new track.

After having played out the Toro y MoiCausers of This‘ vinyl I wanted to hear some other tracks by Chaz Bundick so I’ve been listening to another of this side projects aptly named ‘Sides of Chaz‘, which on occasions meanders between a head nod to the Brian WilsonSmiley Smile‘ saga, Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti and almost goes as left as Mr. Bungle (end of Goodbye Raven).
